GIRL SCOUT TROOPS

Huntoon Stables will again be offering a program for Scouts who are interested in learning about horses. This is a two hour session and we cover the following topics:

History of horsesEveryday care of the horse
Different breeds of horsesLong term care of the horse
How horses helped develop our countrySafety around horses
Proper clothing when ridingProper grooming
Tack styles

Each scout will learn the basics of how to mount a horse and how to hold their reins. In addition, they will get to ride two times around our indoor arena, but they will be lead while riding.

At the end of the riding session, we will take a Polaroid picture of each Scout on a horse. The cost for this program is $7.50 per Scout. There is no charge for leaders and leaders will not be allowed to ride.

We conduct this program on Saturday afternoons from 4 to 6 P.M. and only on certain Saturdays. Call now to put your name on our waiting list. As we know which days we have available, we will notify you so that you can pick a date that fits your schedule. Call us at 630-844-3533 or e-mail us at CDH13040@aol.com

SPECIAL NOTE: As of February 27, 2008, all Saturdays are booked through the end of summer 2008. We normally can not take Scouts during the day but we have set aside two mornings in July for Girl Scouts to go through this same program. July 8th is for scouts from Prairie Wind Council and July 10th is for Fox Valley Council. These special programs run from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. For these two dates only, you must sign up through your council - not directly with us.
