PARADES

All current students are welcome to walk with us in any parade that we attend.

North Aurora Community Parade - May 16, 2010 - This year's parade will be in a new location with a new parade route. We plan to participate and all students are welcome to join us. This is our local community, participation is free and we would like to see a big turnout. A sign-up sheet is posted in the Viewing Room.

Step off is at 2:00 P.M. from the Clock Tower Plaza, Oak Street & Randall Road. Our line-up number is 10. The parade will travel east on Oak going through town and crossing the Fox River, then ending at Island Park. We will lead the horses to Clock Tower and trailer them home.

There will be parking and driving restrictions and there will be shuttle transportation before and after the parade. Visit the Mother's Club web site for more information.

Memorial Day - Aurora's annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010. As usual, we will stage in the parking lot just north of Benton Street and between Middle Ave. and River Street (1/2 block south of Old Second Bank). The horses will leave the stable between 10:15 and 10:30. Riders need to be at the stable by 9:00 A.M. Others may come to the stable and follow us or meet us in the staging area by 11:30. If you plan to park near the horses you need to arrive by 10:45. Take Rt. 31 to Galena Blvd., turn east then immediately turn right on Middle Ave. Cross Downer Place and we will be on the left side. The parade begins and ends at this same location and it steps off at noon. Our line up number is approximately 38 out of 60.

Geneva's Swedish Days Parade will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010. It steps off from the corner of Anderson Blvd. and Center Street at 1:00 P.M. The parade travels south on Anderson, east on State St., then south on 3rd Street to the train station. We are unit #65.
Our trailer will leave the stable about 10:45 A.M. From the stable, take Randall Rd. north to Rt. 38, go east on 38 to Logan Street, Logan north to Gray St. and Gray west to Burgess Field parking lot. We prepare the horses behind the bleachers at Burgess Field then walk them to our designated staging area at about 12:45. Walkers should be dropped off at this location by 12:15 so you can drive to the area of the train station for pick-up after the parade. Streets in the parade route will be closed at 12:30. We estimate that we will be thru the entire route and disassembled by around 3:00 P.M. Don't forget the Stable Luau following the parade and beginning at 6:00 P.M. Scroll down for more info.

Aurora's 4th of July parade on Sunday, July 4, 2010. Step off time is 12:00 noon. Staging for the horse units is on the west side of River Street between Downer Place and Benton Street. We are early in the parade this year so we need to be ready to leave the staging area by the start of the parade.
We plan to leave the stable by 10:30 A.M. Flag and sign carriers need to be at the staging area between 11:30 to 11:45. As with all Aurora parades, the route loops through downtown and ends 1/2 block from the starting point. It is suggested that you park in the Stolp Island Parking Deck.
The Reviewing Stand will be on Galena Blvd. (near the Paramount Theater) and Galena will be closed to traffic beginning at 11:00 A.M.
